**** Still an unknown but is now on eBay for anyone interested. .99 No Reserve auction, Linked in post below******Picked this cue up recently and am trying to put a ID on it. I have my suspicions it could be a Rambo or very early Paradise as you will see in the photos the joint is pinned. The only information I could find leads to one of those two guys when it comes to joints being pinned. Obvious titlist blank, brass joint pinned in place (see pics) small white ring unknown material. Looks to be ivory ferrule. The butt cap is turned to a sharp corner but looks as if the wood is finished inside it. I am thinking the bumper was added later on (not pictured) but it's white and the screw is definitely newer. No doubt cue is in original condition. Wrap looks to be Cortland or something along those lines. The wrap is in the channel. Just the last stran is slightly frayed. Cue is sound and straight with only the slightest of "taper roll" in the shaft. Ferrule looks as if it needs to be removed and possibly reseated, maybe a new tennon but I will eventually sell the cue so it will remain original and let the buyer make those decisions. Any help with an ID on this one is appreciated.

My guess is that it's a later Rambow, like 1960 or so.
Just a gut feel, and it definitely looks like a Rambow.
It's always better to hold Rambows, but you may have a great cue there.

You sure got that fast. With the pin going through the joint I would say Paradise, as I didn't know Rambow did that.

A few specifics may help. Or, they may not.

First, the ferrule is too bright white and too long for anything coming from Herman Rambow. Looks more like a modern linen based material, Corian, etc. Obviously could have been replaced at some point.

Second, it is a Titlist blank. Could be Rambow, though not necessarily.

Third, the wrap is hard to tell. Rambow usually used a very harsh green strand linen. This isn't. It's either a replacement, or an original that's been bleached beyond recognition. No dark strand, and too white for it's time period to be original anything.

Fourth, the bottom of the buttplate is anything but Rambow. Rambow's were recessed weight bolt into the usual black bottom section. This one is some kind of material, flush with the end of the buttplate. Not anything I've seen from Rambow. Could have been a repair? Possibly, hard to tell.

Fifth, but not a big point, Rambow's white ring at the buttplate bottom was usually, but not always, a bit thicker than this shows. There is some variation though.

Sixth, the joint pin does look like Rambow's. 14 thread, and shorter than most.

So there you have it. I'm not sure. And I'm not sure if this helped or not.

All the best,
WW

Not a Rambow. Wrong materials, wrong tapers in areas, WAY wrong in the butt area of the cue.
My opinion, it could have been at one time possibly, but it honestly looks like it's been worked on by a a couple other cue makers in it's life, which is not uncommon for a 50+ year old cue.
Cool cue for sure though.

Congrats.
