ID this cue?

Came across this poor beat up cue...actually looks like it's decently constructed just not taken care of.

Wondering if it'd be worth refinishing, if it's just a junker or maybe a gem.

No sig, no logo, no identifying marks that I can see.

Anyone?

If you want to play with it then by all means refinish it and put a nice wrap on it. It is a pretty unique looking cue and if it plays good how could you go wrong?
 
cliche warning -

money is tight. Your point is perfectly valid. If I wanna, I should, right? Makes sense!

I guess I was more curious if there's anything to this cue. It is unique looking, and the work that was done looks pretty darn good to my untrained eye.

What's a full refinish cost...$150 and up? Can't splurge on that right now...

That rounded off butt cap is interesting, haven't seen many of those other than the older makers, this certainly is not from the older era I'm referring to. Is there a rubber bumper on the bottom?

Give Scott a call at Proficient Billiards, google it, I've never used his service but from what I've heard over the years, does great work and is reasonable with price and turnaround time.

My opinion is it's perhaps one of the Asian persuasian companies. It does have some Brunswick characteristics, but also Wico looking points, like early Meucci points, which is odd too.

Good luck whichever way you go with this.

oh, the rounded butt cap is from my bro going at it on his machinists lathe. When we found the cue the but cap was, well, let's just say multi-faceted. Someone had clearly gone at it with a rasp or very rough file of some other sort.

The meucci thing, yeah, definitely. I don't know the others as I'm no cue expert.

Not gettin on the asian thing...I don't think that's it.

I'm sorry, folks...should have been clear I'm not focusing on refinishing it right now...but if I had found a gem then a refinish would be a safe bet in order to make a sale. Random, I know.

My guess is that you will not make much off of that cue if you have it refinished and wrapped. A shaft was not pictured either. As is would probably make you the most off of it, and that would not be much either.
 
yeah...was just daydreamin "what if I found a TAD, or a BUSHKA!" I could use the dough.

So what would you charge ballpark to smooth and spray it and put a linen wrap on it?

There is a shaft...has a slip on ferrule! HAHAHHAHAHA funny world. Don't know if there's a...what's that post called that the ferrule mates to? Tenon?
 
I've seen that butt sleeve somewhere before. I'm going to see if I can figure it out/find it again.

I still can't find my pic but I could swear I have a pic of a cue with that butt sleeve and that it is a Biagio.
 
Yup, that's the pic I have! Saved it from the raffle! Still can't find it on my hard drive though. Must have mislabeled it.
 
well that went much quicker than expected. I knew it wasn't "junk"...can just tell it's put together well, and definitely unique lookin.
