Idaho State VNEA Championships

Just thought I would let everyone know that the Idaho VNEA state championship happened this weekend. It was a great turnout with over 100 players in the 9 ball and a full field of 128 players for the 8 ball!! I was 'One outa the money' in 9 ball but with an even tougher field, I had managed to get all the way to 5th - 6th in the 8 ball before I was taken down by a bulldozer named Tony Waters.. lol. Lost my very first set to come all the way through the losers side, like 12 matches to make it to 5th 6th, So I was very pleased with my performance. Also glided right through some of Idahos BEST players. All in all it was a great turnout, a great tournament, and most of all... a great learning experience.:thumbup::thumbup:
 
Thats awsome. I talked to a couple friends. I heard my buddy Josh Smith got like 9th in the 9ball.

Do you know how he did in the 8 ball?
 
Snookerd...Congratulations on your fine play. That something to lose the first one, and win 12 matches in a row! :thumbup: Where was the tournament held? Was there a calcutta too? Who were the winners?

Yeah there was a Calcutta , and Josh and I hung out quite a bit while there.. Josh was on the hill in 8 ball when I left, and he was either going to play Kings Santy, or Tony waters in the finals but Josh was strokin REAL good.. so not sure yet, maybe ill call josh in the a.m. and ask him
 
thats cool pool is out there in Idaho, ..100 players is not shabby at all! who is the best player in Idaho?

When i left like six years ago from Boise, The guys that i would say, would be...

Josh Smith
Doug Berest
Kings
Canada (Brian)

There were a couple others but these stick out the most in my head.
Oh yeah and ME of course:thumbup:
 
Josh and Kings are at the top of the top players board, but there are quite a few great players here in Idaho, Marvin Nash, Tony Waters, Tony Ruhl, but Josh seems to be the most successful lately.
 
Yes.. there are most definatly players outa pocatello... Tim Joseph is all i need say.. in fact that was my horse in the 8 ball... he is one I had to beat to get to the final 6... it was a very good tournament for me. And let me tell you , if you have never heard of Tim Joseph.. just ask around , I am sure you will find somone who has heard of him.
