If you have room in the case, dedicated jump and break cues are better I think. I love my Gilbert but it's not great for short, tight jumps. I had planned to get rid of my Jacoby jump cue but ended up keeping it because it really is better for those kind of jumps. Not sure how much better a dedicated break cue can be, I love breaking with my Gilbert. But I havent tried the offerings from OB, Predator, or Mezz.
