If a pool cue was a horror movie character

Looks like it spent the last 50 years buried in a shallow basement grave and came out a zombie looking for brains. The other scarry part is that it actually had bids up to over $300 so far.

They look like they were sitting in a bog, that's like 30 years of grime, moisture and mold.
That cue can probably cause the extinction of several indigenous people populations with un-developed immune systems.
Forget gloves... would wear a Predator wet suit and respirator

Don't want this one, but love saving vintage cues from the grave. Just imagine the before and after pics!

Guy buys it for under 400
300 to Mcd gets it refinished with a new shaft
So 700 into it. You can't get 1 for that in the like new condition it will be in after the refinish.
Guy might even find somebody who wants those shafts and now you have less then 700 in it.

I don't think it's worth all the trouble unless someone really wants that model.
$240 for refinish, assuming it's not warped and the inside is not wood mush by now. $80 for the two shafts if they want them done, if it's even possible for those, the wood could be ruined. $70 for a new buttcap which is not part of the refinish cost.
New shaft is at least $100 without matching the ringwork, probably another $30 to match it.
$450ish without touching the shafts, over $500 with the shafts.
