If Corey loses, is he the new Mirko?

If Corey loses, will he be considered the Mirko of the pool world.

This being said only because the majority of people seemed to have him as a big favorite (at the very least in rack your own)

in some ways u are correct but it's a completely different thing, mirko just hates fighting in a cage, it'd almost be like putting corey on a snooker table against a top snooker pro, the match up for mirko is that bad in a cage, i'd compare corey's inability to switch to a hard break when his soft break fails him(killed him badly in the last 9 ball WPC) to mirko's inabilty to use his hands to set up his deadly LHK, instead he just throws the LHK

after i watched the first 5 games of this match i really felt that shane was breaking better/harder/smarter and that corey very likely WOULDN'T switch up his break because he sticks to his guns, i would of gladly bet even money at that point on shane

i will go out on a limb here and compare this showing by SVB to only other 1 person and that's roger federer, federer's greatest strength is his ability to use his defense to create offense, the monk says the best safety is a break and run, i think from this match u could say the best safety is a lock up safe so tight that corey deuel can't even make a good hit on it

Never expected to see this kind of comparison on this board. Cro Cop never has been a champion for one thing. He has always came up short in every organization he has been in. He's always been known for having the tools to be a champ but he doesn't have the right head on his shoulders to one I don't believe.

Corey has proven himself to be a champ. This is just one match. Corey is far from done.

Corey is most definately not done. He definately is a frontrunner. Not much grind put in the mid to late stages of that match. Made it easier on Shane in a lot of cases, whereas Shane gave no air.

I think Corey needed this, maybe he'll lay off the golf course so much and start practicing like he's supposed to. I know, whenever I lose to someone I feel I shouldn't have I get on the table and practice until I get my revenge.

As CroCop's countryman, I sadly agree. Ever since his defeat to Fedor, he has not been the same. It's no surprise he got thrashed at UFC, although we were all kinda hoping he would win there. Ah well, he's had a nice career anyway, lots of top fights. He's not only a former special operations cop, but also a member of parlament. I wish he would get smart and have a peaceful life with his family.

I also find it hard to believe someone would compare a loss in game of pool to that of UFC.

i may well be wrong but corey to me is a typical example of the american player in recent times who could be top of the world but for some motivation. whether that's his fault or the wider state of pool in america's fault is another matter.

either way, he is an amazing player who'll bounce back.

one match and they are ready to retire him, lol.i wonder what the thread would have been titled if shane would have loss? they played not so long ago and corey gave shane the 8 and beat him easily.its 1-1 really so let them play like 5 or 6 more matches and then we can tell who the best player is.

well i guess u didn't watch the pride open weight grand prix last year did u? mirko ran a blitz krieg through the toughest tournament in the history of MMA, so yea he is a champion, i don't care if he loses 10 fights in a row he still has the best kicks in the history of the human race and the guy is the most well rounded striker in the history of the sport

why don't u just come out and say u don't like the guy? mirko is a huge star in croatia and u don't know anything about his fighting history

They played Shane's game for $10K. Now, how about they play 9-ball for $10K?

since theaction guys are likely backing some/all of shane why would they make games that their guy isn't the favorite in? corey got out managed, shane has turned down some 9 ball games recently even though he'd be the favorite because he knows that he has the nuts with 10 ball(minus a few filipino players), corey's side got out managed here

u are right, it's amazing how fast people will write off someone just because of 1 loss, coreys soft break can work wonders in 9 ball but it just doesn't convert the same to 10 ball, if he keeps breaking soft he won't beat shane unless he really finds the perfect break at the perfect speed

Johnson I was referring to the fact that he's never been a title holder in any organization he has been in. He has always came up short of the mark except for one tournament. Then he came to the UFC to be the next big thing and got beat by two relatively unknown heavyweights that weren't even in the top 10. Not only did he get beat, he got DOMINATED in both fights. And he got beat by Gonzaga with his own trademark left kick to the head.

And Johnson... what the hell did predator saying that was out of line? He didn't say anything negative about Cro Cop and said that he and his country were pulling for him. And you come out and say he doesn't know anything how his history? You need to check your attitude just a little.
