I would look up Mike Massey's book as well as Stefano Pellingas book. Dr Cue Tom Rossman has a great site about the history of Artistic Pool as www.drcuepromotions.com.
You can also find the current shot program at www.wpa-apd.org
Dr Cue's protege is in Eville and he could probably talk to Tom for you.
Adding to the others mentioned, Byrne's book on trick shots has a lot of historical info. Hood's book is still available in reprint I think.

You might want to check out some of Grady's older vids.
If you've got the stroke for it, and I take it for granted you do, high English like you'll see him use can be incorporated into some truly great trick shots.
