If Joshua Filler and/or Fedor Gorst Were Born In The United States

There are too many variables that really determine what the outcome would be. For example, one could argue that Landon Shuffett has just a much playing ability as Gorst and Filler, but he choose not to pursue pool. Bergman and Dechaine are also top level talents but never really lived up to their potential due to personality reasons- fear of travel, disagreeable tendencies. They may change over time, but it may be too late (Dechaine is now in his late 30s)

Not a chance. The early high level coaching and intensity in training for both just wouldn't happen in America. I'm not sure either would even pick up a cue by the time they were competing for world junior titles.

Yes, absolutely. Same level. Genes trump any training environment by a mile. He would have been chasing down Archer and Corey as a kid. Then Shane as a teen.
Wwwhhhhhhhhaaaaaattttt????? I think its well known that the Philippines produces far more than their fair share of elite pool players, are you saying there is something in the water there causing all of these kids to be born with exceptional pool genes? Or is it possible that pool is a very popular pastime there so many kids start young and stick with the sport? I think pool is more nurture than nature, anyone with reasonable hand/eye coordination and average cognitive abilities can be taught/learn to play at a very high level. It may come quicker to some but I dont think natural ability trumps nurture.

So what’s holding you back from being a 700? Or just about ever single other member save 5 or 6 on this forum? I guess it’s laziness;)

You are absolutely correct. I dont have the patience to practice shots I struggle with until I cant miss them. A good example is about 7 or 8 years ago I determined I needed to improve my break. I bought a Break Rak cause all of that racking aint fun, practiced with it probably a half hour every day for a couple of weeks and my breaks improved tremendously. If I put that kind of effort into every facet of my game I believe I could reach 700 but Im too old to put forth that kind of effort not mention I would have to give up all other pastimes.
