If Trump beats Shaw?

It was a joke.

You see many years ago, there was this pro pool tournament where Vegas made the lines and the biggest long shot somehow...never mind maybe I’m too old.
 
Outcome is to be expected. His first couple of opponents were lay ups. Shaw is a 9 ball beast. I am surprised Trump is not playing with an 11.8 conical. Big difference in diameter between the cue he is playing with at the open and his snooker cue. Either way I wish him luck. I think he will continue to improve. The guy can break solid and he has some decent mechanics already.

Does anybody think that when Shaw was up to 9 games that he deliberately missed the 1-ball in the corner to allow Trump a chance to score?

No, there is no way Shaw would go easy on Trump. If Trump wins the rack, breaks well and then gets easy patterns he can still come back. Unlikely but he can. Shaw knows that any opponent can come back given a chance.
