Squirt only occurs during the tip-to-cue-ball contact. Perhaps you are referring to the swerve/curve back. That part does not depend on the cue stick and it is opposite to the direction of squirt.

My bad. I got the terminology wrong. I was talking about a soft semi-masse, not squirt.
