If you had to choose between a dufferin cue and a falcon cue...

So here's my dilemma, Ive narrowed my cues down to 2 makers, one being dufferin and the other being falcon. Both would be new cues, but would one play better? They are both priced within the $250-$300 CAD range.

Now looks aside (i think they both look pretty good), would the falcon cue actually play better than the dufferin cue or vice versa? Or would you recommend a different brand altogether? Or does it not even matter at this range?

I would add Lucusi to the that group. I would suggest hitting a few balls with each and then make your decision.

As you can see my list of cues. I always let people hit balls with any of my cues. I shake my head at the a$$holes that wont let anyone hit balls with a cue that they are playing with.

both the cues im looking at im pretty are the ones are currently made in china.

I was told by one person to go for the falcon because of its ties with predator and how they are pretty much in a league of their own.. but also saying that the chinese made dufferins still hit pretty well. which still leaves me with my dilemma.

Neither company is American. (Both founded in Canada) but Falcon still promotes the game and pays pros to represent their product. For that reason, I would go with the Falcon product.

I forgot to mention that the dufferin is a limited edition cue.. but i have a feeling that that has nothing to do with how it will play but more about how it might retain value?

why have u selected only 2: folcon and dufferin? if u just like the way they play than choose the one that looks better(as i think the quality of both is about the same)
but if it's like ur 1st cue and you have no idea of what should ur cue be like and you just looking for a solid cue for its money than i could recomend some of joss or Pechauer cues that have little artwork/moreover you can look at mezz cues sa series. to my mind they are very interesting.

Like someone else just posted try hitting with them you can aways try a Joss even schon's What made you pick those two as your final two ? there are other great cue's out there for your price range Besides the two i just mentioned. Good luck with youe choice.....

the main reason ive limited myself to those 2 is because of the mix of reputation and artwork i can get at that cost. It's also things i hear from people saying how falcon's are supposed to be really good cues but that may be outdated since they dont make them in canada anymore. Dufferins im told have a long history of being quality cues too and apparently still make some decent cues that play well too.

Schon's start at the 400 dollar range which is out of my price range. although Joss cues are in my range, they are a little too plain. Same goes for the affordable mezz cues. With the mezz cues, anything with any sort of art seems to jump their price from 270 CAD to around 500.

I wish I could actually play with them but in those stores it doesnt seem like i have that opportunity. Theres nothing really for me to test on.

If anyone knows any good dealers in or around toronto, ontario that might help me find a decent cue at a decent price, but from what ive found the 2 cues (Falcon ws-3 and dufferin limited edition c9bt cue) are what i can afford with the styling i like too... Im just really worried about quality and how well one may play better than the other. I may be over thinking this but again i appreciate any guidance that i can get. I really just dont want to buy one and then feel like i wasted money.

again my HO is that you should not care about all that inlays n ringwork at this stage.
also to my mind 300$ cue that looks like a 1k$ is some sort of bad taste.
good luck
