Actually, either system is substantial when used in a word-based sense. To say that the British way is better than the American way would be like saying that the British monetary system, i.e.; shillings, pounds, etc., is superior to the American system of dimes, quarters, dollars. The benifit to both societies is encompassed in culture. You fail to mention that in mathematics, physics, astrophysics, etc., exponential notation (6.4 X 10^6, for example) is used, which renders your argument moot.

BTW, we Americans do get out quite a bit. Have you checked your backyard lately? :D

I think Zeeder summed it up best!

Most people on this board would be happy just to see more pool on tv. Any pool on tv would be greatly appreciated! :) Thats really all they want. Whether it be the US Open, Derby City, WPA World Champs, etc, it doesnt make any difference.
TV time is what its all about, and so far, KT hasnt delivered. You must admit, there has been very little publicity- % 99.999 of Americans probably havent heard of the IPT or what it is doing.

I would just like to see some good pool on tv and I dont care if they are playing for $40,000 or $44,000,000!
A pro player always gives %100 and you cant do any more than that- no matter how much money you are playing for.

Dont blame the sceptics for being sceptical.

Gabber :)............do a google on KT and let me know if you find something positive about the guy that wasnt written by KT himself. Cheers.

Gabber, please, please stop replying inside the quotes - ti makes it hard to reply back.

1. The fact is that Kevin already gave away MORE than he said he would. Originally the 1st prize for the Vegas event was $100,000 and $50,000 to the loser. He gave away 150 and 75. The fact is that he already produced a billiard event of signifigant magnitude. The fact is that he has publicly committed to a tour that dwarfs all others. So, I would say that pro-IPT people have some facts in thier corner. You, on the other hand, have speculation about what you think will happen based on what? A conviction for credit card fraud. A ban by the FTC? Which of these makes Kevin unfit to fund a pool tour? Maybe if he were asking everyone for their credit cards? Oh, wait, the facts are that he has successfully run an operation that processes thousands of credit card transactions daily and he is not behind bars. How about the FTC ban? Well, that one didn't do the trick for the government or big medicine did it? Now he is not only on TV but on TV with something they can't stop.

2. My boss is a millionaire. He will spend a couple grand to have a good time on a whim but he won't spend $10 on something he sees no value in. How many of us spend money frivolously? How many of us that have the cojones to admit that we do are as wealthy (monetary wealth) as we would like to be or think we should be? Mostly wealthy people who earned it on their own are also wise about how they spend it. You say a measly $150,000 as if it is a measly amount. I will refer you to the great Willie Mosconi who said the difference between the pro and the amateurs is that the pros know there is no such thing as an easy shot.

3. No, there are no rules that say Ronnie will lose his spot. Neither you or I know what decisions will be made by the IPT. But, if it is the case then so what? Ronnie surely knows it and is making the decision that he wants to make.

4. You are gong to condemn a man because the show he just produced in August is not on TV yet? Start checking the track records of other organizations before you go that route. I'll bet you right now that the IPT is on TV more than the UPA and the WPBA for tournaments played from August 2005 to August 2006 in 2006. Care to bet? If you really want to see more pool on TV then you ought to be hopeful about the only person who seems to have the financial committment and the contacts to do it right now.

5. I don't care if you are skeptical. Just don't expect your opinions to be universally agreed with when you post them publicly.

6. I don't need to Google Kevin Trudeau. I already did. I read the same thing you did and made up my own mind about it. Be real. At this point you wouldn't say a good thing about him if the Pope blessed him.

Goodnight,

John
