I am noticing a trend that is not good. Buyers beware. If you can't be honest then do us all a favor and LOG OUT. Way too many people on here are getting screwed over.

From what I seen on here lately I will only buy off of certain individuals on here.

I don't blame you a bit for that. Everyday I log on I see beware of somebody. It is really annoying to see so many crooked people.

how do you get a rep

I logged on for my first time and want to upgrade/ sell or trade my cx-50 schon for a ship or nitti,is not having a rep hurting me.I'm genuine and wouldn't screw anyone.Any feed back ?

It is a little frustrating, isn't it?

First of all, you don't have to read the "Beware" posts.

Second of all, how many MORE people are out there that are honest, decent people and nobody is complaining about?

Yes, it is frustrating to see so many bad deals, but in the whole of things, there are very few complaints compared to good deals. And sometimes, someone really does get screwed. If that happens, most folks like to know who is dealing some bad business, so they know what to look out for.

Sometimes, folks get a bad rap, too. Hopefully, that doesn't happen too much. And, some folks sometimes get overly wired up when they think they've been done wrong and they react with warnings, when a little more time and conversation with the other party could have fixed it. We're only seeing one side of the story and have to decide whether it's real, a lie, or blown out of proportion.

Lighten up and be glad there's a forum to discuss all this stuff.

We just had a very good thread on here about something similar, yesterday.

I am very glad we have a forum to discuss this stuff. I do listen and I am not pin pointing anyone. I just get frustrated with people getting screwed over. I do read the beware post and keep notes on them so I can make sure that I don't deal with these people. And I also understand that we only hear 1 side of the story. And I am glad that these people post there wrong doings. On the other hand I know there are people getting screwed over in all types of business. I just wish people would step up and be honest. Thank you for your post on this thread. I want to say 1 last thing I know there are alot of people that have had good transactions and I hope they have many more. I just ramble alot. thanks again

people

You know, this REALLY sucks!! I have been dealing here on AZB for a while now, doing trades, sales, or purchases...And surprizingly enough, I've only had 2 bad deals. I guess I've been lucky, for the most part, but I have tried to stick to dealing with the "known" sellers here, which may account for the good fortune. I don't like to keep 1 cue for years, I like to own it for a while, use it, then sell it or trade it for something new...Its how I roll lol It refreshing to know that for the MOST PART, we got some very honest people here on AZB. I love nothing more than to "deal" with the kind of people that are similar to myself, when making trades or sales, at least! I don't know of, or am aware of, another place on the net that you can say this about...So with the exception of a few idiots, I'm VERY happy to be a part of AZB :D
I'd just like to meet some of the honest sellers some day, and get to know them better, play them some pool, and have a drink or something...Just talk billiards or whatever. Maybe next year I can make it down to Derby City and introduce myself...That sounds like FUN to me!!

i like this however. be careful how fast u label some one a thief or a scumbag. its not always the case , trust me i know;)

Hey.........great idea! I really like the idea of posting your eBay user name in your for sale thread on AZB. That way buyers can see how you operate and offers a little bit more info on the seller.

That is, of course, unless you stole the eBay ID and are running a total scam anyways!!

Russ.....

This forum is no different than the rest of world, there good people and confused people. It seems that many people forget that first impressions are lasting and someones reputation in many cases can be damaged permanently even if there was no real dishonesty of Mal-intent.

To sellers I would say this, be honest, treat people fairly, and bend over backward to satisfy your customer. Also remember that you are responsible completely for all items that you sell, so check the items out and make sure that the description is accurate and complete. If you can not do this, it is your best bet not to sell the item, because your reputation is worth more than a quick sale.

To Buyers, if something looks to good to be true, it most likely is. Being dishonest can come in many forms and this includes trying to get over on someone else kindness, or trying to negotiate after a sale is complete even though there was nothing wrong with the item sold. Buyers should only buy from sellers with good reputations, or be willing to take a chance that things may go wrong. This gets back to if it looks to good to be true, you may want to stay away from it, what I am saying here is, you get what you pay for and that can work many different ways.

Have a good day

I would have to agree. There is always 2 side to every story! I have a very good rating on ebay, and had some problems with 1 order. Over 150 good but 1 bad. I didn't send a tracking number on the order, and the guy went on here saying what a crook I was. I had proof that I sent the items to him, but he continued to complain. He ended up getting his money back through paypal, but didn't let anyone know that. I think ebay should start REQUIRING tracking numbers. I had no problems with USPS before, but this one time made me look bad. I sent 4 other items that day, but 1 didn't get there. I've used Ebay since then with no problems, and this guy hasn't used it since, or has he posted here since. There are a lot of crooks, but sometimes good people get screwed as well. I was out the books, plus had to give back 128.00 from my account. There are 2 sides to every story, but I feel on here we never hear both. We always assume the seller is the bad guy. Most of the time this is the case, but I know in my situation I wasn't.

Hey thanks man. They don't have Corona at the Derby so you'll have to go to Kroger. Don't forget the limes.

you keep notes on people not to deal with??If i send you a user name would you be able to check your records for me when the time comes??

Question

I have sold a cue, a titlist butt and a shaft here. Everyone called me and said that the appreciated my business and let me know that they received their goods in sound order. How can I tell if people have given me any type of bad rep? I have a Fanelli for sale or partial trade, and I only received a few offers. I can not tell if people don't trust me or is it that they are just not interested in the cue. I have only met one AZer here in Portland, and find it difficult to for anyone to throw their 2 cents my way.
