Regardless of your political persuasions, what would you say the true speed of the President Elect is? Attached are two videos to review. So please view first and don't be judgemental. lets remember in both cases he's playing with house cues on mediocre tables without any warmup and with the pressure on. He's clearly got some experience with a cue. The question is how much?

His thumb was on top of the cue, and he was only playing one ball ahead. I'm going to say D.

Maybe I'm being hard on him. On a positve note, he keeps his right arm solidly planted with his weight forward & the stance appeared to be balanced. He was looking at the object ball when he pulled the trigger! LOL

I think he was playing off his real speed! I hear them CHI-Town
players all do that! I voted him a solid D.....But i fall for those tricks on a daily
basis!

BTW: cool VID' post. That bank shot went in......

"signs of a miss spent youth"

If i where a cue maker, i would start making him a custom now....Just something to think about....

Anybody who knows how to cue behind their back has to be at least a C player, right? I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say C. :)

I think it's a little insulting that he said his "skills on the table are a sign of his misspent youth".

That's just a standard line from way back. If you want to take it personally I guess you can hurt all you want.

His speed? He's not really, really fast, but he's not slow as some I have seen. I guess I would say he's about half fast.

my thoughts exactly. not only can he do a behind the back shot, he's got a closed bridge on that same shot! not exactly a rookie move by any means.

Politics aside, does anyone see any pool-related opportunities arising from an Obama presidency? I was just thinking that if President Obama could be talked into putting a pool table in the White House (it's happened before, right?), and occasionally allow himself to be photographed or filmed playing pool, perhaps while making some positive comments about the game, that it could have a tremendously positive impact on the sport in America. I believe I heard that young voters turned out in huge numbers to vote for him, and those people are the future of our sport, so...

Anyone else agree with my theory, and, if so, should we be writing letters to President-Elect Obama suggesting that he acquire a pool table once he takes the White House? Surely one of the major table manufacturers would be willing to provide a "Presidential" pool table at a good price. :D :D

If Obama wants to put a pool table in the White House, I'm sure he'll do it. What is your letter to him going to look like?

Dear President Obama,
Please help us market the sport of pool to the masses by installing a Diamond table in the White House.

He's our future president...not a Nascar driver.

Alright then. Thanks.

Unfriendliness has nothing to do with it. President-elect Obama is about to hold the highest office in the country. He will be responsible for the day to day operations of our country. I personally find it disturbing that you would want to use our president as a commercial. Why not pick somebody else like Tiger Woods or Michael Jordan? Everybody loves those guys and they've done commercials in the past. Barack Obama is not billboard. Frankly, I don't believe he has any time at all for commercial spots.

Supposing you do somehow convince him to do a photo shoot with a pool table. Next thing you know, the ping pong crowd will come. Then the bowling crowd. Then the racquetball crowd. Do you see where this is heading? The man has a job to do which affects us all.

:nono: oh come on now. the guy is definitely a 3 in the APA. probably a high 3 at least. I don't know many people that are APA 2s that even know the difference between an open bridge and a closed bridge, let alone use one consistently on each shot, and play for position.

Definitely a D player. The way he played the 3 ball, he was never going to get anywhere near the 7. He hit the ball very gingerly, leading me to believe he was too concerned about making the ball (which is a very easy shot especially on a bar table regardless of pressure). A C player or better would followed to the rail and down table.

He clearly didn't misspend enough of his youth.
