I'm looking for set of collets and misc other parts for my cue companion lathe

I have lots to trade or paypal avail. Not looking to pay retail. This has been expensive so far and I'm not that far into it. I have really nice redwood burl to trade as well

I found a round 1" piece of nylon to make mine. You have the hard part done. Buying the lathe, now put it to use. I'm not trying to be a wise guy, just think outside the box. Once you have one turned down just use a hacksaw to cut the collect in half to get the relief groove (make sure you use a file to round the inner edges)!!! They could leave a mark in the wood you're fastening in the Chuck.
Hope this saves you a ton of money.

What types do you need? (Shaft, joint, butt)
And what diameters do you need.
I have lots of black and white Delrin rods in stock.
Send me a PM if you like.

You can easily make them out of delrin, but for shaft / butt chucking into the head stock, black electrical tape works great if not better. Make sure you wrap the area 3-4 times, making sure the end where it stops doesn't overlap the end where u started, just short is great, and keep that small seam area away from your chuck jaws when clamping down. Works great, wrapping 3-4 times around protects the wood, and the electrical tape stays in place while doing your work. Just a helpful hint. Problem with delrin and other plastic type materials, they are hard to keep true and one spec of anything on them can throw you way off center when chucking into your lathe.

If you keep your stuff clean and check for run out, thats not a problem.
Well made collets makes life alot easier.

Keep the burl. It would be a shame to have all the tooling and no wood.

Like others have said. Collets are easy to make out of Delrin and it's good, cheap practice. If you can't make collets. You are not ready to make cues, IMHO!
