Image On Cue

Hello every1,

How do you transfer a picture on a cue? I have a customer who want a flower on the sleeve/handle. When i look online I end up with eihter Vinyl stickers, or a gel mdium transfer. Do you get the requests and if so, how do you get a solid transfer> Many thanks.

The thin sticker would be your easiest route. A dry rub on transfer would cost you a fortune to have made. You can get printable decal paper and print it off on your inkjet computer. The image will be reversed unless you have some software to correct it, but that should not be a problem for the flower.
 
Need to find a local airbrush artist...if that's not an option then I'd have it printed on rice paper and then clear coat it to the cue. Rice paper is super thin and won't leave you a raised edge once it's cleared like a vinyl decal would.

i've tried the transfer with Gel Medium, but since this leaves a layer of glue behind i'm not sure that if i put finish on it, it will be any good at all.

airbush is expensive, especially on a cylindrical object. The ricepaper option is one i haven't explored, thnx for that!

and with rice paper, do you mean the tracing paper that is used in the video?

Id use actual rice paper if it were me (or a water slide)...it's thinner and leaves less of a ridge...tracing paper will work in a pinch...use just a touch of paint on the back side of your image as glue to hold it in place then clear over it...
