I cannot tell you how many times I have heard people asking about that "Racking Secrets" book of Joe Tucker's, wanting to know where to obtain a copy. Ryan "Genie Man" McCreesh had his copy of the book stolen at a pool event last year and was quite upset about it. It is a pool bible to some players. ;)

The DVD set is a godsend and will be a best-seller in the pool world (IMO). :)

Now if Joe can only come out with a book on BREAKING SECRETS! :p

I heard it is in there but you have to look at the other side ;) !!

In an ideal pool world, a neutral breaker would be the answer, but it just ain't cost effective to have them in place. At the Skins Billiards Tournament, it was decided to have Scott Smith the TD rack for every player, and the players were not allowed to look at the rack or have him change it.

Some tours and events have incorporated the alternate-break format, which has been met with mixed feelings by a variety of players.

One thing for sure, Joe Tucker is the racking/breaking guru of the pool world, and the Orlando Open provides a golden opportunity for pool players -- amateur, aspiring, and professional -- to pick his brain and gain a little wisdom!

I'm getting me a copy of them DVDs! It is a must-have for my pool library! :p

Now if I can get only my horse to study it, he may be a dangerous man!

Sorry Eydie, I don't know what I was thinking. I thought you said 7' tables for a minute there, and I couldn't see the point of paying £2000 to travel all the way to Disney when £1500 would buy me a cue long enough to knock them in from here. My mistake.

I thought the fact you listed the smoking and dress code policy then didn't say anything about smoking meant there was no smoking policy, and that I could smoke. Again I apologise for misunderstanding your glaring mistake, even though it was your fault.

Boro Nut

We have all made typos at some time. Was it really necessary to be so mean? Anyone who plays pool knows that she meant a 7 foot table. Some people have way too much time on their hands.

I love the fact that you were able to get Diamond tables. I'm looking forward to being there. Should be some great games and definitely a great social with tons of players.

Diana is the BEST in the business, bar none! This is a photo with a little of that Hoppe magic that she recently e-mailed to me of my favorite player! :)

Could you be a bit more specific please. Based on current American demographics tons of players could mean as few as three.

It is an accurate representation, Boro Nut, to use the expression "tons of players," but it is quite difficult to be a bit more specific.

One ton equals 2,000 pounds here in the U.S, and the word "tons" in its plural form indicates there is more than 1 ton.

So it can be safe to assume, then, that there will be enough players at the Orlando Open that, if put on a scale, would weigh in at 2 tons or more, i.e., "tons of players."

OK I'm prepared to be generous, and I think I am, based on what I've seen on Jerry Springer. Shall we say up to 4 minimum?

Could you be a bit more specific please. Based on the above-referenced, I did not see any reference to a 4-ton minimum.

Actually I was thinking along the lines of 4 players minimum. But 4 tons is fine. I'm happy with 4 tons. You can hold a quarter final if 8 players turn up.

To my knowledge, and subject to check, Boro Nut, there isn't a venue at the Orlando Open for a 4-player minimum, unless you are referring to the ring game. The amount of players in ring games do vary, though, and can exceed 4 players.

So, to be a bit more specific, ring games are played out until there is only one man left standing. I guess if the ring game consists of 8 players, as in your hypothetical, then, in essence, there could be a quarter final with the remaining 4 players in the ring game.

Boro NUT,

Am I missing something here, are you adding some value? If you are, please express it so everyone can understand.

Thanks.
