Hi,just wanted to highlight something I didnt realise till NOW!
I am one of the lucky ones who get "Live" WPC whole day. Now getting ready to sleep, I turned on the ESPN and what I thought was a replay of the shown matches earlier..THEY ARE NOT! They are now showing "Delayed telecast" other unshown matches of today...as they have 2 TV tables!(and cannot show both "Live")..

P.S. This info probably for those who might have assumed like i did...
Just for those who, like me thought WPC is over for the day!
(now i wish i hadnt read the other matches' results..spoils the viewing)

Anyway,there goes my sleep! heehee...
(I have recorded it all on DVD, but i do not wanna sell, as I do not want trouble, if someone can tell me a LEGAL way to share my DVDs, you are welcomed to suggest)

What's dc++ software?

DC++ is an open source client for the Direct Connect protocol. Direct Connect allows you to share files over the internet without restrictions or limits. The client is completely free of advertisements and has a nice, easy to use interface. Firewall and router support is integrated and it’s easy and convenient to use functionality like multi-hub connections, auto connections and resuming of downloads.

Go here to download:

run the tutorial and take your time setting it up. when it's set up "quickconnect" (through the dcc software) to interpool.dnsalias.com. Then highlight some of the names in blue on the right which indicates that user is online, get his file list and start downloading. Others will be doing the same to your shared files.

We've been watching for about 3 or 4 hours now. Alot of that was the basavich match (just a joke) - but the commentators even talked about the lengthy matches of his. But he's winning matches for himself & the US!!

Thanks ! Though I get only one frame per 5-20 seconds, I can still hear the audio... and it's like watching a slideshow of a pool match pictures :)

I got through once, I saw a single image with sound in the background. The image never changed.

IMO it is kind of pitiful. Le Scratch Billiards put a webcam on their Canadian Championships and I got a great feed watching it here in Australia. But for the world championships, done by ESPN, they cannot even compare to that and instead have a pretty much unwatchable setup. With the quality of the feed I can hardly feel they are doing me any sort of a favor.

Hi.I received quite a few emails & PMs regarding the DVDs. Its only day 2 & already quite a few discs...i have no idea how i'm gonna "copy" all the discs...or even digitise them to put in harddisk...

Also, does anyone have some info on "file sharing"(eg.DC++)...is this a "Breach of Copyright Laws"? as It is recorded from subscribed Cable TV, not free to air...(although broadcasting on internet..almost makes it "free to air")

I only have a dial up connection so I didn't have any expectations when I pulled it up on my monitor. I went to my neighbors to see what the difference was in high speed and there basically isn't any. Celtic, I have you beat by two images. One was an 8 ball made & what looked like shape on the 9. Five min later I saw a player rising up from the table. Another 5 min and I saw an image of what I can only venture was a commercial.

The frustration of knowing that there is some way to watch without being able to accomplish it...The link has never worked for me. Darn it. Anyway, I hope Gabe does well. Thanks.

To those people who were successful to watch the wpc over the link above, what type of connection do you have? How fast?

I just clicked the that link listed in the post above, and the media player just popped up on our monitor, and it took a few minutes to buffer, but then started playing on it's own. We're not all that computer literate, so would be in trouble if it hadn't, and we were required to figure something out!. The audio is great, the video is choppy, but that's okay, we can live with that. At least it's better than not seeing or hearing anything. The U.S. Open live video on the internet was quite choppy also. And I believe we paid to watch that. At least we're not paying for this choppy video. So we're enjoying what we are able to see and hear here on the other side of the world! I'm still trying to figure out all the times for our time zone, and of course, hoping to see Gabe, Corey, Jones, & Archer play, since I know them all better, but still enjoying all the other matches and all the converation about it here on AZB.

I'm glad you enjoy the viewing.... Taiwan is +800 GMT... somtimes it's hard to figure out the time difference.. but the way I do it is I just add +3 to Pacific Time... say for example.. now is 8:00 p.m. in California... I add 3.. that means 11:00 a.m. (July 4) in Taiwan... it works for me... :-)

if you have DSL or Cable connection... you won't have any problem at all... it's like watching regular tv... sound and video excellent.. no frame delay for me...

Regards!
