Impossible Cut variation

The "Impossible Cut" is a trick shot where the object ball is placed on the center spot on the rail and cue ball on the center of the head string. Has anyone tried the diagramed shot as an extreme variation? I made this one time (out of many attempts) on a Valley table and a very flexible cue. I realize the opportunity for this shot doesn't come up in real pool, but I have used it to cut a ball up to a half diamond in a game.

The only person ive ever seen make this shot is lou butera on the videos in the virtual pool video game, its a pretty neat shot.

This is indeed really extreem. I've done many (around 70% succesfull rate), but not as extreem as this. Only 1-2 balls next to the straight line. I done it with a really stiff cue. Recently I discover that I can apply more english with a flexible shaft like the 314. So perhaps I can do it :d.

I used to be able to do this shot,I stopped playing and when I started back I lost the shot.I can do the shot if the rock and the object ball are even on the first diamond and cut the ball 3 diamonds in the corner.

On normal equipment, you shouldn't give the shooter more than 10 tries at the shot and you should expect to pay if he takes the bet. Here is an article that discusses the shot. http://www.onthebreaknews.com/Jewett3.htm#August04
