today, i put on espn2, and found curling. the european sport, on ice, with precision rolling of the rock. i didn't have a clue of what it was about, yet i was drawn to it. then the announcer said "in case your just joining us" and went on to describe how it worked, which made me even more intrested. they also said, it's a little like billiards. now, why can't mitch lawrence say "in case your just joining us, your watching 9-ball pool, and describe how you go thru the numbers, and only the 9-ball counts, i feel this will make more passive viewers intrested, and keep them glued to the screen longer. just a thought.

Bernie, this is a forum not a chat line.
You can't post every "thought" you have.
Try not to think aloud too much.

Silencer Remember this Mantra from the silent one... say it three times a day...

"I am not in control of this world".

Haha relax guy! They are doing a good job with the coverage and more people are watching it and talking.Let it evolve.Say something intelligent, or tell us a cool story instead of negativity. We all come here to chill and have fun right?

bernie, that's so brilliant. you should fire off an e-mail to espn, the wpba, and ewa laurence to pass along to mitch. in fact, you should share more of your ideas with people who are not readers of this board.

That's Ok Bernie. They all ridiculed me the first time I told them how the mother ship left me here 700 years ago to study the life on this planet. It will return soon and I will go back to the other side. Perhaps you would join us. Your ability to string together words that seem on the surface to serve no useful purpose would be very interesting to my superiors.

I hope you aliens teach Bernie the difference between your and you're.

European sport wtf? Curling is Canadian, we own any other country at the game. Oh and BTW, curling is probably the fastest growing spectator sport in Canada, and it likely will spread. For some reason the game is quite popular on TV. It is likely due to the strategy and the suspense of the shot as the rock goes down the ice. Where pool is a quick result curling draws it out abit more. Curling in Canada gets ALOT of live coverage, it gets ALOT of sponsership, it in fact is well over pool in virtually every manner as a growing sport.

I was going to pick him up on that, but if he is new to it the ESPN broadcast would have been misleading. First of all the Germans and the Swedes were playing for the championship. Secondly, the commentators when describing it's history mentioned it originated in Scotland, but failed to mention that it reached it's zenith in Canada.
BTW, I think it is a really cool sport and I love to watch it, always have.

my simple point was, many people tune into 9-ball without a clue as of what to look out for. you may now carry on with your reports on who is taking over what association, and the importance of the ferrull, you boring bastards.

Screw that. We will now continue talking about curling since it is > pool. So anyone else here think Kevin Martin's rink is the all time greatest?

It's FERRULE.
Try to get it right.....
And onto what is the ferrule attached ???
No, it's NOT a trick question.
