In hindsight your silliest post, reminisce Part II

Looking back what is the silliest thing you posted on AZ and now know it just doesn't make any sense. Self deprecation is so gratifying.

This is easy....I NEVER go into NPR, but one day at the bar a friend and myself were talking about the recent shootings....Cant remember if it was the cop killings, school shootings, or Trayvon Martin shooting.? Anyway I care least about politics or being a D or R, more than any human alive.

I proposed my question and my response in the NPR section, and was immediately flooded with comments of me being a "sniper poster" (which I dont even know what that is) and was of course already told I was ignorant and wrong (my opinion:grin: was wrong of course) within a few minutes. After I did a little NPR research I found the tool bags that were saying these things were in the same "group"....Ill give ya a hint....They really like the Bush family.....

So I was dumfounded because I was told essentially my opinion was wrong and I was a sniper lol....So I try my hardest not to read or, god forbid, post in NPR.....It is filled with a bunch of people who dont think for themselves, vote by color (red or blue cause mommy and daddy told them too), and people who go straight to childish antics as soon as you make a valid point or challenge one of the few.

So that was my silliest post because I wish I would have never tried to induce thought into a forum where nearly everyone has their mind made up already.

I think the dumbest move I ever made here on AZB, is when I created a "placeholder" thread in the Aiming Conversation subforum for a project I wanted to do to pull the veil from and prove the CTE visuals, with e.g. laser line pointers and other measuring gear. I thought I was very careful in setting expectations that I'd not get to this project right away due to lots going on at the time, but that I would like to solicit ideas in the meantime as to how to go about the project. But man, did I ever catch grief from the aiming system crowd! The whole "you need to take your time to fully absorb the system" notion went right out the window, and even after periodic reminders about the expectations that I'd set when creating the thread, I was getting hammered -- daily(!) -- about updates and why no progress was being made, to the point of name calling, etc.

Learned a valuable lesson -- NEVER create "project placeholder" threads for that vitriolic crowd (the aiming system devotees). As well as make sure to do projects for those that would appreciate the work.

Live and learn,
-Sean

I once claimed my Olhausen table did not rattle balls much... After about two years of comparing my table to various pool halls I realize that statement was bunk.
