Hello AZB!

Ok for our own little in-house league, which consits of a total of 5 teams (1 taking a bi each week)

mix between apa/bca formats (4 players play a race to 3 each night, call pocket)

15 weeks long + Play-offs.

What is the best format to use at the end for play offs?

I was thinking maybe top 3 teams move to finals, and do a round robin?

Feedback would be greatly appriciated!

I came up with one that I haven't had a chance to try yet.

Throw out the handicap used during the season.

Play double (or single) elimination matches to 10 games.

The team that finished lower in the standings gets a game on the wire for each higher finish in the standings. In other words, with your five teams (you'd need one bye), the team that had finished last in the regular season would receive a four game spot from the team that finished first.

I came up with this rather than just use the regular season handicaps for the play-offs, which too often just results in the same winner. It gives the lower teams a good shot at winning.

My idea is very simple, no numbers juggling, and no long, drawn-out matches.

Pickpocket...I am a fan of round-robin play. Everybody gets to play a lot, and the best playing people that day, get to advance. I have actually run round-robin tournaments with as many as 20 players...everybody played everybody...best records won...playoffs in case of ties. BTW, I cleared my PMs.

Sweet!!

Thanks everyone for the input! Leaning toward a round robin, but some other options actually sound pretty fun also!
