Ok.... I've been kicking tires on cues on this site for some time now and really need to get something new picked up. Now things have changed a little. Last night I got a call that my Grandmother had passed away, and I was notified this afternoon that I would be receiving a small inheritance. I really don't want to just piss what little bit I have away so I'd like to spend it on something that would remind me of her all the time. It's either this or put it towards an engagement ring....who knows what's best. I'm looking for a wrapless player around the 500-800 range. And maybe I'm on the low end here, but looking for something to express the beauty of the woman who raised me. Even a nice wrapped would be ok too i guess.....but a wrapless would be preferred. Pics would be appreciated. Thanks for listening to my rant and have a good day.

Nice cues Bama. I certainly don't want to step on your toes or hamper your business... But...

I love pool as much (OR MORE) than the next guy...

Dude, I don't know what kind of ring your going to get for the cash you mentioned....

but regardless of what you get... GET THE RING.

I could go on and on about why a nice simple, elegant antique diamond ring on the women you loves finger goes WAY WAY further in regard to sentimental value in the long term... Everytime you look at it on your women finger you remeber how much you loved your grandmother and how much you also love your soon to be wife... You are essentially creating a family hierloom in your grandmothers honor, that thing could be passed on and for generations... I mean I could go etc, etc, etc forever on why this is the right choice... I'm not Dr. Phil though... so I digress.

Buy the ring dude, even if it's not for the girl your with now, or even if you end up taking it back from her and giving it to some other would-be girl that will extent your soul and spirit of your family through your children and your children's children.... and so on...

Trust me, The ring dude. Do it, and don't look back.

i do like the phillippi........been thinking about it for a while...........should have pulled the trigger on that josey scabdagger last week.....

Dawg....the ring has already been bought.........just not fully paid off yet.........got about $1k left on a $4k ring.......i don't want to sound pessimistic or anything ........but i plan on spending the rest of my life with my soon to be wife ( wedding is paid for and planned just ring isn't there yet....yeah i know it's messed up ) , but you never do know what may happen 20 years from now and that was my only concern about the ring that it would end up out of the family if things went wrong.

Oh sorry, misunderstood about the ring thing.

I hear you about your doubts, I've only been married a few years now and I had every doubt in the universe too... and like it sounds in your case, it was not easy or quick for me to save up the 4k+ to buy the ring my wife wanted too (well the ring I thought she deserved, she had no idea).

But if your buying somethin "in honor of...." your grandmother it's gotta be better than some sporting goods... Albeit, nice and trust me HIGHLY desirable... You gotta do better in her honor.

Just my humble opinion brother.

and congrats on the women, the wedding, and the ring.

i see what ur saying..... pool has / is my only form of entertainment since i was 7. when i'm not driving truck i'm with mallory (fiance). and when i need to just get away or enjoy myself pool is there........ probably need to just do the same thing as i did with the ring and just save and get something worthy..........but i wouldn't call it just a piece of sporting goods.......even my 300 player means more to me than that....

Yes, sporting good doesnt start to describe the relationship between a player and his 3rd arm...

then perhaps middle ground, there are plenty of up and coming or not as well recognized young "starving artist" cue makers that maybe able to make you a cue for 800 that has inlays that are pieces of your grandmothers old jewelry? maybe she had some earrings or some other type of old jewelry? maybe a piece of leather from something she owned as a wrap, or her favorite color as a linen wrap and perhaps a nice antique stained color or something? something that reminds you or her, you would know best.

Just an idea.

p.s. I might have bought the Josey too. lol.

thank you for the advice dawg........i picked up a cheap sneaky tonight......it'll tide me over til i can get my head straight from all of this

I am sorry to hear about Grandmother! May God be with you and your family during this time. I know God is with her already!
