***In need of help scheduling a pool league***

It's that time of year again...
Does anyone know of a pool league scheduling program
that actually works? I'm trying to find a program that
will automatically do the scheduling. My concerns are
that I have several locations with multiple teams and
only one table, so I'm trying to put together a schedule
that will not "overbook" that location. Any help would
be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!!

Problem solved...
I want to thank everyone who contacted me in regards
to helping figure out a way to put together a schedule
where there are more than one team playing out of a
bar that only has one table. I did a google search and
found a website that looked like it was very well done.
I called the number (disconnected) but I thought the
website looked so professional that I sent them an
email. Richard Gonzales responded to my email and
said they had changed phone numbers and must have
forgotten to change it on the website...no worries.
I filled out the information he requested, and he sent
me my schedule and it looks great. No mistakes, no
errors, and most of all no double bookings! I called
the teams today to let them know where they play
tomorrow, only to have one team tell me they won't
be playing. (Yeah, thanks for the heads up)! I called
Richard in a panic, and he asked me to send him an
email with the team that had dropped out. Within a
few hours I had another email with a new revised
schedule attached to it! This man is the real deal!
Very professional, and very inexpensive as well.
If ANYONE, needs a schedule done that has any
concerns about over booking, or you just don't
feel like messing around with it yourself, give him
a call. You won't be disappointed! The website is
www.leaguemagician.com

I hope this helps anyone who is in need, as I was...

I don't have a program that automatically does the work, but with a little knowledge of a spreadsheet program such as Excel, you can create a round-robin schedule of any size with my attached instructions.

If you need some help, maybe we can trade. For just one of those $100 bills in your picture (which you seem to have far too many of), I'll do your schedule for you. :)

I appreciate the offer, but I'm not paying $100 for
someone to do a schedule for me, regardless of how many
Benjamin's I have. The real issue is I have several locations
with more than 1 team and only 1 table. I don't want to
manually have to check each and every one of the weeks
to make sure I haven't overbooked a location. That's why
I was asking for a program that automatically takes care
of that situation. I know they're out there somewhere...

I've been trying to solve this problem for years without success. Even posted a thread here without any responses. Purchased MatchMaker Pro which helps but requires several hours of tweaking to get the schedule correct. Each match in the league we manage requires two tables which further complicates scheduling.

My understanding is that the problem requires linear algebra to create a workable algorithm. If you find an answer, please post back.

Btw, we charge $100 per session for the schedule and it doesn't come close to covering the time involved.

Friend of mine came up with a challenge match type format. Start with small tourney of any game. Maybe ten players and let the tourney results form your list. Winner on top and on down. Or no tourney and pull names from a hat. You challenge up the list and try a get to the top. You can turn down one challenge but not two. Now the beauty!! You play once a week. Anywhere, anytime, including your home table. Let's play on our lunch hour at the pool hall. Or my house this evening! Staying out of the smokey bars is a plus. Your league is invite only! No jerks. No world beaters if you so chose. Exclusive! Must be voted in by members. Communicate by e-mail. Lots of options. Customize any way you want, any game. Have a one pocket league!!

That sounds like it could be very interesting.
This however, is a small traveling pool league that
simply requires a schedule that will make sure there
aren't any scheduling issues. We have several locations
that have more than 1 team playing for them, and they
only have 1 table, so unless those teams are playing
each other, we have to make sure one team is at home
while the other is on the road. It's a pain in the backside
to try and do this manually, so I figured there must be a
program out there that addresses this subject.

You might want to try Pool Leagues of America:

http://poolleaguesofamerica.com/

This is a fully-running league management system that is currently hosting many leagues across the US. It's completely customizable, has a management portal (where you input the weekly stats), and can also run season-end/session-end tournaments. League fees are also customizable.

Try clicking on that link, and view the "PLA Demo" league to get an idea. If you like what you see, just use the "Contact Us" link.

See my post #9 above. Pool Leagues of America handles both in-house as well as traveling leagues, of all sizes, and can create the schedule *for you*. I.e. one-click, and <poof!> there's your schedule for the season, calendared out for you, with the locations that each of its teams play at -- whether "Home" or "Away." It takes into consideration the number of tables at each location, etc., and you can specify that if one location has a couple teams with a couple tables, not to have them play at the same location at any time.

Check it out!

Thank you for all your help. I'll check into it
when I have a little more time tomorrow. It's getting late...
