however no smart gambler looks to have even bets. that is stupid. may take some for various reasons at times.
but never takes a bad bet. bad bets are sucker bets and just takes your money and moves it elsewhere.

I always made bad bets and had to outrun the nuts! I was like a used car dealer that used to advertise on the radio that he bought for retail and sold for wholesale because it was more fun that way!

In my gambling days I was like that used car dealer. If I lost a single game I cried loud enough everybody in the place knew it. When I won I was quiet as a mouse! I lost early when people were sober enough to remember it and late when it was the end of the evening and people would remember beating me last time we played. I played terrible for low stakes, better when the bet got larger. Three-fourths of the town thought we played about even or I was just a little bit better than them, not so much that they minded trying me. Somebody ask how I was doing and I would assure them I hadn't made a ball all night!

I ain't the sharpest knife in the drawer but I am a firm believer in "if you can't confound them with wisdom, baffle'm with bullshit!"
