I be willing to bet there will be plenty of action @the Adams Mark Hotel by the airport in Indianapolis this week starting Wednesday night and through out the weekend. If anyone is interested. There always some heavy hitting going. More than likely the following may be there.

Strong Arm John
Denver Barger
Brian Gross
Brian Gregg
that's just a start I'm sure there will be a few surprise guest there also.

Well since I found me some Hoosiers, what are some great billiard parlors around this state that I could have some info on? See, I (somewhat) have plans to move to the midwest and Indiana is in my list. Well, I hope to become a future Hoosier!!

In north central breakers in muncie is a nice room, coonies in logansport (very nice room, just not much action if your looking to gamble), Embassey over in alexandria, couple little places in marion.

Couple places in fort wayne, though I haven't been to them yet. Of course Indy has a variety, with airport billiards probably having the most action. At least it was that way. Rarely play in Indy.

I can help out in the Fort Wayne area.

Break & Run - Tournaments and Action
Corner Pocket - League Play & Tournaments - Some Action
Side Pocket - League Play & Touraments - Little Action
Billiards Cafe - Social Hour

There seems to be some kind of tourament everyday and most of the tournaments offer calcutta's to raise the pot up a little.

Is break and run running the tournaments with take out money for a final? Heard they are and they are forcing you to play in so many to play in the final if I'm thinking of the right place. Might be the corner pocket I'm thinking of.

I may run up there this weekend.

Action?????????????

I go every year this one of the top tournaments of the year for Indiana. Lots of action all week long.

I have been once to Mr. and Miss Cue close to Indianapolis, how is the action there? I really liked the way the tables played.

Want Action?

In Indianapolis, you should to to the AirPort Billiards. It's not really a classy joint, but if you're action hungry, it's a great place to start.

i may head over there to watch some and play a lil, the few times i went it was the out of state players winning a lot of the money, kentucky/illinois/michigan

for places to play lafayette is probably the worst in indiana, purdue is the only place with descent tables but no action and rarely can u find a descent game, lafayette has no 9 foot tables that i know of, everything else is crappy bar tables @ $1 per game, there was a descent weekly alternating tourney going on but now that vnea season is over it'll stop

i'm down around evansville now, princeton has the best place in the state to play pool, Crickett's off the square has 2 10 foot snooker tables, 1 with bigger pockets an pool balls the other with tight pockets an snooker balls, quarter per game per player loser pays, good food at cheap prices, all sorts of players up to semi pro caliber

i don't go out to evansville much but it has a few good places, skye's used to be the place to go for action/tourneys it's now o'brians and mainly a league joint, for action the roundabout is the place to go, usually see some guys playing 1 pocket for a few bucks and there's a few of the top bank pool players in the state, jillians near the casino has some nice tables but probably not much action i'm sure there's other places around town to play

....as far as the Northwest corner of Indiana....well, uh, over the border in Illinois there's always Red Shoes, Chris's, Pro-Tyme, etc. A few good "action" rooms within 1/2 hour of the state line.

I've been out of the traveling mode for about 15 years. I played I think it was "Ronnie the Hat" @ Northside Billiards might be gone now. All use to find some pretty decent action at the Port Lounge on the weekends. But like I said that was a long while ago.

That is wrong if you finish in the top 3 I believe you qualify for the tournament of champions. If you don't then you must play a certain number of times at the tourney.

I totally agree with that, there is money games going all the time. From big games to little ones. 5, 10, 20 dollar ring games, it's just a really good week for shooting pool in this state. There were plenty of poker games also last year if your into that. I love watching all of the mouth leading up to the action it gets comical. Lots of new youngest with no fear playing pretty good. Of course not with their own money, but thats part of the game.

Portage, Indiana, home of Northside Billiards and The Port Lounge, both of which are long out of business.

The Port was once quite the happening place for pool in the area. Years back it was sold and the new owner removed a number of the tables and changed it over to a band bar. Within a year or two, the owner had some legal and financial problems and closed up shop. Another potential owner had an agreement to buy it and had plans to reopen it as a pool bar, but that deal went south as well. I just heard the other day that the building is going to be converted into a catering business, which will be the first time it has been occupied since the bar went out of business a few years ago.

Northside Billiards has also been gone for several years. I haven't seen or heard of Ronnie "The Hat" Mayes for a few years. I believe he was still living out in Illinois somewhere when he co-owned Northside. He grew up in the neighborhoods of Gary when Gary was a much nicer place than it is today. Anyone know if he's still around the midwest?

keep an eye out for me at the adam's mark, be there all week. i'll be the guy woofing at you (well, not all of you, but definitely cubswin!).
