I am planning a trip home to the U.S. and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good shaft maker.I would like to get 2 new shafts for may custom cues but I'll only be back for 10 days.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mike Stacey in Noblesville, IN.

Jim Sickles in Indianapolis. Posts here as BilliardBum. Sherm Adamson and Dick Neighbors are in Cincinnati.

Not sure about just showing up and having two shafts made, I would probably get whoever you choose the specs now.

Travis Niklich of Blackcreek cues is in Smithton, IL and I believe Jerry Eich of Blackheart cues is somewhere in Illinois as well.

I'm in O'Fallon, Illinois and recently expanded my pro-shop out of my garage and into a plaza.

It's probably best to send your specs to a cuemaker to get started on the shafts, then once you get back, the butt and shafts can be matched up and the shafts can be finished.

I just noticed that you're in Japan! I have a good friend stationed at Yokota, he has had me repair several of his cues and is currently playing with a Sneaky Pete that I built him last year. His name is Elmer Posadas! Where are you and where are you returning to?

Good luck,
Zim

Thanks

Thank you all for your advice it is greatly appreciated. When I come home in August I am bringing about 10 cues with me that all need different work done. Some need shafts two need joint work one needs a new wrap preferable leather. I posted on this forum because it seems like allot of you are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to cues and I will not have time to hunt for someone to do these repairs while I'm back.I know that everyone you all have suggested can do the job but do you think that they would have the time to do all these cues in 2 weeks?I really look at what you guys say to get a feel for who to go with before I contact a specific person.Thank you in advance for all your help.:)

Sorry

I forgot to say I wanted to ask Zim when you were in Korea who was the top U.S. player there? When I came back to Japan in 02 I saw that a friend of mine name John Powers from Fort Hood had lost to Souqet 9-8 in a tournament in Seoul and I would really like to find him. Also if your friend from Yakota is ever in Okinawa tell him to come to Alabama's outside of Futenma Air Base and I'll donate to his traveling fund and if he plays real strong I'll make him some $$$$.

Im in Terre Haute, Indiana

I can recommend ALL of the cuemakers mentioned.

I have seen all of their work and I havent heard a bad comment about any of the cuemakers mentioned.

I have heard that Madison Bob is VERY busy, but I suspect all of them are pretty busy as their reputations are good.

Best of luck,

Ken

Elmer is actually going to be at Kadena in a week or two for the Academy, I'll mention it to him.
Good luck and we'll talk later,
Zim
