I just got back last night and wanted to say congratulations to Brian Gregg and my Team from Muncie{Mixed Nuts}.
Brian played some fabulous 8-ball and won the Masters singles title. I watched the last couple of sets and he played almost flawless from start to finish. Perfect position and I don't recall him ever missing a ball.

As for my team, I couldn't play with them due to me being a Master in Vegas. I kept score and tried to keep them fired up for the week. They ALL played some great pool and I'm very proud of them. They lost their 2nd match and had to win 3 more in the losers bracket to make it to the final chart. Once there, all teams start over with no losses. After winning 3 or 4 matches on the winners side, we lost a tight match by 1 ball. Then winning 5 matches in a row before running into the team that dumped us into the losers side. That match came down to the very last game. My player broke and failed to make a ball, and their guy ran out to beat us again. We finished in 4th place out of somewhere around 490 teams.
Can't wait for next year.

Yes, we won the masters division again. Thats 2 in a row. Guess my team can play a little bit. LOL. I was happy for him too. Thats a tough field in the Masters. If you miss a ball during a set, you better get lucky and leave the guy bad. Brian played a very controlled game. It helps me every time I get to play against him and all the other Indy guys. If Mac gets something scheduled, I'll let you know.

Congrats

Congrats to you and your team Sam. It is always great to see any of you guys play. Are you guys going to Vegas? I will be out there this year. This is Crystal Augustine I got second this year.

Sam,
Way to go.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but if a team had a DECENT scorekeeper, couldn't he have jimmied the score so you would have won by 1 ball??? Just asking.

Hey, if your BCA plans fall through, we are in the process of looking for monster players to put on a team for this Fall; with an eye towards making a run in Vegas in 2009. It should be a very good team; but you would make it better.

Let me know if you get the itch to visit Betmore's Basement some weekend (my daughter is home from college; can babysit if necessary while we play).

Gotta love the local VNEA site for Indy

I've heard of slow, but this brings a new meaning to the word.
