So let's say you just opened a room.
You want to get as many decent quality, easily affordable cue sticks in the hands of your customers as possible (with the goal of spreading the pool playing virus, pushing up customer loyalty & of course table time).

What Brand(s) and Model(s) do you recommend?

Please keep in mind this is a Room Owners Question, and not a players question of "What's the best cue for the money?". This is also not a question of "What entry level cue stick has the greatest profit margin?"

THANX! -Steve

I would definitely not recommend decals cues.

I think you should find out what better players in your area like and find something close to the hit or at least same pin.

For example here in taiwan we normally recommend customers that want to buy their first cue to spend at least $175-$250 on SW-like cues made in Taiwan.

Cause these SW like cues has the same joint diameter as the real SW. And most pro players here play with Southwest, so in the future if they'd like to upgrade but couldn't afford a real SW, they could just get a SW shaft that fits perfectly with the cheap butt.

I sell a ton of players, rage and have just hooked up with Nick Varner. His stuff is definitely the best quality and the price point for an entry level cue can be around 75 bux. With a layered tip none the less.

I'd love to sell more high end cues (maybe one every couple of months) but for a first time buyers I steer them to the Players and Rages. Watch for deals from your supplier on entry level Sneaky Petes ... we can't keep them in stock and have to wait for the next deal :frown:

Back in the 80's at East Meadow Billiards, they had a point system.

for every hour you have accumulated it would earn you points towards a cue, the more points you have the better the cue.

this system worked real well back then and it really attracted frequent business !!

Local APA run various promotions such as new incoming player or referral gets a cue if they stick around for the whole season.
