info on cues needed if possible

Hello all,

I just purchased two cues the past couple of weekends at garage sales/cragislist. I was wondering if anybody out there can tell me anything about either one of them. I just thought this would probably be the best place to ask. Thanks in advance.

The top cue is an import from a pool supply store, worth ~$0.

The Huebler should pull $100 or better, nice old cue. If you want something to play with, you can't go wrong with a Huebler.

Thank you for responding. I got them relatively cheap. I was intending use them as wall hangars to replace some warped cues I have. The import cue came in a Giuseppe case so I guess I got a little value there.

The Huebler is a pretty good cue. Looks like it needs a tip and ferrule.

Huebler prices are strong-ish right now since Paul Huebler passed. That one looks like it's a little banged up but should be a nice player. That's an easy $100 cue...and I would certainly want more.

As was already said the other looks like an import...typically sold at pool supply places and other.

It may be real splices...and may be a decent starter cue for somebody. But generally not worth a lot. I am surprised it has two shafts. That to me says somebody saw this cue more seriously. And they took better care of it than the other one. I would try it out and see how it plays. It may surprise. But it looks like a pretty stiff taper.

You can get a brand new "generic" import with real splices and two shafts for 150 if you shop a little. Easily get one with one shaft for 100. But that's brand new...and I think in that price range you are better off looking at a used simple Schmelke or McDermott anyway. If you sold it on Ebay I am guestimating you would get anywhere from $75 to $125. $65 on a slow day. For some reason cues like this attract more money than we typically think they should.

.

Origin and actual value notwithstanding, I think the top cue would bring a multiple of whatever the Huebler does.

I could see the resident speculators bidding that up to $300-$500.

Would it be worth it to replace the ferrule & tip for the Huebler if I decide to sell it? How much would something like that cost me? Thanks for all the info it is much appreciated.

Not unheard of. The buttcap is a bit cheesy, and the forearms looks like Ramin wood. The point work loos halfway decent if they're not overlay.
