A friend at the pool hall i go to came upon a very old Meucci. It broke down to 3 pieces like a jump stick. I am going to take some pictures today and add them to this post. I looks like it is from the 70's. It does not say Muecci on it but i know not all of there sticks did, depended on the year. Any info and a possible value would be great.

I have a Ford, it looks old. What can you tell me about it?

Why not upload pics, then post a new thread?

Sheesh.

Meucci probably, authentic jump/break doubtful

It looks just like the ST 3 from the Starter series by Meucci, without the name. My quess is that someone took an old Meucci Q to a Q maker and had them transform it into a jump/break Q. To the best of my knowledge, Meucci never made a jump/break.

It can b seen here:

I don't know if they made this stick with jumping in mind but I talked to a Meucci dealer who told me they did make a cue in the early 70's that broke down in 3 pieces. Has anyone else ever seen this Meucci?

I actually have one but I'm not sure it was any kind of a production cue , at least I understand this one wasn't.

early on Meucci made a series of jump cues. The SJ (Sammy Jones) series. BUt it was two pieces. Check out Mad MIkes discount cues for a picture.

Meucci did indeed make a jump/break cue. Sammy Jones made a video using & showing several. I've seen many over the years. The late, great Fountain Inn Red Willis had a very nice example. If you could provide better pics...close ups of the joint pins especially...I could tell you a lot more about the cue. I highly doubt the cue contains any ivory...better pics can confirm this as well.

Thank you i will take some close ups of the joint. Part of the problem is i have a really good camera and it makes me re-size to photo so small i lose the quality the my camera provides. Any tips on posting pictures would be great.

Thanks, Ken

I've got something related for you to look at then too. ;)

Hang on a minute . . .

Purchased this about 20 or so years ago from an (at the time) decent sized local Meucci dealer that was a pretty good friend of mine. The story is that it was made kinda last minute at the request of a sponsered pro player and was returned afterwards. That dealer later aquired it with some other sorta odd ball stuff , part of which was a Tomahawk Cue and Gambler with what I call the bizzaro stain :) both of which I also purchased.

It has no Meucci Logos at all. The second longer shaft pictured was ordered from Meucci a few years later.

Do you have pictures of this cue also?

Not handy , that cue is in storage with others but when I get a chance to get over there I'll take some.

RRfireblade...that is unusual indeed. Its very possible Bob could of had something like this put together for a pro...before he even had a Meucci j/b to offer. Back in the day Bob would actually try to take care of pros. The bumper, pins, ferrule, collar length all look Meucci for sure. I'm curious if the joint diameter is .820 or less? I'd also be curious if when the tip is ever removed on the original shaft, if it has the standard original Meucci thin wall uncapped ferrule...not something that you'd really want for breaking/jumping. The extreme length of the buttcap is odd as well. It very well looks as you may have an unmarked 1 of 1.:)
I have seen several Meucci j/b's but all where marked with the logo.

That was the way I understood it to be.

If you tell me what and where to measure I'll get those for you too. I can say that the newer shaft ordered later does fit perfectly.
