Info on old Whitten 2X4

I have had this case for at least 18 years. I have no history on it before that.
I was just curious if anyone knew about how old it is. It looks like it mite be one of the first ones made as I have never seen one with a metal zipper or that type of pocket or leather. The metal zipper was not the best choice because of the scratch factor. Thanks

You're stretching my memory. I believe I bought my first Whitten (which I still have) in late 1991 or 1992. It has the current logo under the lid and a plastic zipper. I bought it fairly soon after I bought my South West cue, which was June '91.

I have two other Whitten's, a 1X2 that's from 1990 and a 2X4 dated 4/98 that have the plastic zipper and name under the lid.

That's why I was thinking it mite one of Dan's first runs.

Skin looks like the wrinkled pocket liners of the original Diamond Bar boxes. From the looks seems to not of been used extensively. The interior looks good and the bottom of the case too.

Your not kidding spktur. I get my balls busted by a few when I used to use it quite a few years back. I acquired it believe it or not from a guy who lost gambling with me and was out of cash. So I said I'll take the case and will call it even.
