Info please on 1960's Viking

I am looking for information on this Viking Cue. It was a new purchase around 1960 by the present owner.

Searching AZB I found 2 posts of a 1980's A450, one which sold for $ 550. This cue has the same inlays above the grip (5 points) but not the inlays between the endcap and the wrap. Endcap might be Ivory or not and it is also original. It has yellowed quite a bit through the years.

The joint seems to be very different then any Viking I have seen so we are both curious as to any information from the experts. It is in good shape, very slight warp in the original shaft. Any idea as to present day value would also be welcome. Thanks.

I will say that I am no expert but that Viking looks to be from the early 80's not the 60's. I have a three point from the early 80's with the same joint. Nice cue.

Looks like a Viking B95.

blue book says its a B95. 1981 MSR $95. Worth about $275 in good shape.

that's a joint viking offered. don't know if they were doing it in 81 though. might have been repaired/replaced at some time.

Thanks for the info you supplied on the B95 Viking. I did an internet search and the description for this cue is exact. It is a 4 point (per the B95 description) and I mistakenly said 5 point in my original post.

However I have one little problem remaining. Are you sure it could not be from the 60's ? I'm not questioning your judgement or expertise in any way. Again I am grateful for your prompt and accurate input. But the original owner says that he was in the military in California in 1960 and purchased the cue at that time. This is his only cue and he still uses it on a almost daily basis.

I am happy to leave this as a mystery (he does not want to sell it for sentimental reasons) if you are sure of the early 80s date.

Defiantly not a sixties cue. 80's +. It is a three point cue.

PoolCat un-screw the cue and look straight down from the pin, you can see how many points it has easier. The logo, bumper and joint just scream 1983.
The veneers look to be colored plastic (a little hard to tell) but that might also be an indicator of early 80's.

This is a Early to Mid 1980's A-Series 3-point Cue

I have the Brochure from 1985, This exact cue is a Model A-110, It sold for $110.00 when it first came out, I have a Catalog and Price sheet Effective April 1st, 1988 and the Same cue is Still a Model A-110 and sold for $120.00 and extra shafts cost, $48.00. Hope this helps.
