INFOS on NOVA CUES

Could anyone give me some feedback on Nova Cues.On playability and on history as well.
I saw few on forum and really like them but so far I haven't been so much into custom cues,so don't know much.

I knew a guy at a poolhall in Odessa, Tx. that had a Nova, I hit it a couple of times and it had a decent hit. I forget who it was that made it, but he quit making them several years ago.---Smitty
 
Nova means "NO GO"

I bought a NOVA cue almost 20 years ago because it was a little cheaper than a Schon/joss...and the guy that ran the cue shop said it played identical to the higher priced cues. Now...I will preface with telling you that my stroke probably wasn't the best stroke in the world at the time... But I miscued like crazy with that cue. I traded it and cash for a Schon and immediately stopped miscueing. !!! that cue wasn't for me.
 
I believe the maker, Nubs Wagner, used to work for Schon and his cues look and play very similar to Schon cues. They are well made cues. Nova used a phenolic insert in the shaft similar to Schon, except i think Nova's was all phenolic, where Schon uses a brass insert into phenolic.
 
I had a Schon, very played well, and have a Nova, plays tiny bit better IMO. I like the feel and balance of the Nova more. Both excellent cues. You can't go wrong with either. My Nova is 15 years old and finish looks almost new, really good finish on the cue.

Nubs Wagner started Nova. I do not believe he ever actually worked for Schon, this is a commonly held belief. He hired a guy by the name of Steve C Miller who built his high end cues. Nubs apparently did not make spliced cues but may have finished some blanks that he purchased. Steve C Miller designed the phenolic pilot according to a close friend of his I know, and he has one of the original prototypes. Steve has since passed.
