Suppose I Want These Designs Embedded Into My Butt Sleeve , How Will The Cueman Approach This?
Material Choice? Expense? Time To Complete? What Does The Customer Need To Know?
There is generally a per inlay charge as well as upgrades for ivory, stone, silver ect.. There can also be a programming fee for one of a kind inlays. I believe it will look too buisy if you inlayed the cue you have above as is. I would suggest you use 2 of the 4 paterns and have them 180deg apart. Or, have a pattern that goes 360 around the cue. Just my 2 cents. Chris.
Looks to busy to me. However it comes down to what the customer wants. In this case its going to cost a lot for this design from most builders willing to even do it.
I like both designs on the right. That small of inlays with sharp corners would need to go into ebony or expect to pay an arm and a leg if that many corners have to be knifed in by hand. I agree with Chris with using two of the patterns alternating insteqad of all four and I think Jerry is right about where I would have quoted for the inlay work also. I think all the advice so far has been pretty good. Show us pictures of the cue when you get it built.
