hit and inlays

With Tracy doing the WOW, I was wondering how much inlays effect hit. I know in a full splice obviously it would. In a half splice, how much does the point type, butt type and inlays in each effect the hit of a cue?

Hello Jim,
Inlays do have an affect on the hit. Just a few, is tough to tell. However, with a harder wooden inlay, and many of them will change the cues make-up.
Ivory inlays, changes the hit quite a bit, as sterling silver will do also.
The number of inlays, the type of inlayed material, could very easily make a huge differance.
As far as the hit goes, [here we go again], with the hit.
Most of us will say, [HOW DOES IT HIT]. This is really bad question coming from all who are interested.
Why, because we ALL have a differant opinion and "FEEL" for a hit.
Kinda like asking who builds the best truck, Ford or Chevy? It's not who sold the most, because one guy likes this truck and the other guy hates it.
We have all seen it posted that [so and so's] cues hit the best. This is only one persons opinion. That's all. When the smoke clears, you will have to form your own opinion on how anyone's cues hit. Besides the hit and how the cue handles the ball is another can of worms.
Please don't fuss at me, guys.
One cuemakers opinion.
