Tks, that's an option i haven't considered.I would probably have a decent Cue-Maker make some out of modern material/s.

Terry just helped me out on a few items , one great guy
I would consider using a phenolic insert, it’s much more durable than the plastic Paul used. I use to put phenolic inserts in all the shafts I built.
Nylon Hex Bolt
Nylon Hex Bolt 1/2" - 13 x 2" Make your own NYLON inserts! To use as a nylon insert: First, drill and tap to 1/2" - 13. Second, glue in nylon hex bolt. Third, face off head of nylon hex bolt. Fourth, drill and tap to your preferred thread size.

From what I understand that's how Huebler made them. Terry can confirm or correct this. He's a good and helpful guy. I have dealt with him.
