Do you have an extra 0 in there or missing a ,? You have to remember that many people who buy a McD have it as a 1st real cue, and get a cheap model. A month later they are still a D, so feel they need something prettier to improve their game, so they get one with a Skull on the end. A month later they are a C and realize that the skull looks a bit tacky and buy a nice one with points. They just sold a cue to the same guy 3 times. Multiply that by all of the players starting out, and there you go :)

I can easily believe this. I grew up in WI and it seemed that everyone had a McD. Now I live at Penn State campus and it is one of the most common cues you see a student pull out of his case. My first cue was a McDermott EK-5 and I thought it hit great and still think that that is true for the typical player. Not everyone can appreciate the difference between a McDermott and a custom cue anyways and should save the money until they know for sure they want to walk on this path of ours.

Maybe McDermott makes house cues for Valley.

And maybe, Inside Pool should have tried to follow some time of responsible journalism & verified this 40,000 figure before printing.

The Inside Pool article stated McDermott's Annual production at 40,000 CUES. Number seemed very high. Who is buying all those Cues?
