Hello!
I was inspired by the topic named above so I thought that I'd tell you what has happened here, in my little country a few days ago - as it is some kind of a get-together too.
Back, a few months ago, a countrywide championship was organized for both the pro players around and the amateurs too.
The point of all that was to find the 8 very best amateur and the best 4 pro players (momentarily).
The best 8 was found by the Grand Final of the countrywide organized qualifying rounds in which 56 players were invited.
When all these 12 players were found it was time for the so called Super-Final whereas 16 players were playing...
...along with the invited proffesionals who were: Ralf Souquet, Tony Drago, Imran Majid, Marco Tschudi and the Hungarian player: Vilmos F?ldes (who is a 9-ball Junior World Champ too).
Anyways, finally, after all the long years (decades...) of waiting we got to see some of the cream of the International league. I know, that you may have seen many of these "guys" and that you have been at many great tournaments but around here it was a miracle - to see all these great fellows, to chat with them, get their signatures, etc... And of course those who made it into the Super Final could also play "normal" matches against them to win the final prize (1500? or so if I remember correctly).
What also gave some extra feel to the event was that - eventhough all the players were as serious all they used to be on all the other championships - they were joking, kidding with each other - and meanwhile making shots that no one thought about were possible.
All in all it was such a great event that it should be chosen as a holiday of the Hungarian Billiards Community.
Oh, and what is more is that I was inspired mostly by the pictures in that topic so I'll post a few here too just in order to let you feel a bit of all the spirit that everyone felt who were there.

Pooh
P.S.: on the last day's evening - on Sunday - there was a VIP party where you could meet the pros, talk with them and we'd also see a great match going for 3 won frames between Vilmos F?ldes and Marco Tschudi, with some extreme rules like the 9-ball can be potted only from at least 2 rails... We saw SOooo amazing shots!!
I hope you don't mind for making this post, I just wanted to let you know what happened here - due to all the hard work that has gone into it.
