So I'm having a 9 ft AMF disassembled and installed with new Simonis 860. The job includes disassembly, delivery approx 100 miles away and install including putting new cloth on the rails. What is a fair price? I've been quoted at $1000 including cost of cloth which is about $300 for a 9ft. Feel free to pm me if it is not acceptable to post prices openly in the thread. Thanks. Btw sorry for all the post regarding this table, its my first "real" table and I'm excited.

prices differ in different parts of the country. try the sticky for a list of mechanics in your area and check their prices.

If its a well none tech asssume travel time to get table delever it and drive home upto $100 in gas roughly. laber brake down load wrap and unload moving slates twice. Fic all the little thing wrong with table tighten, tweak repair to bring back to near perfection of playability. Then level, refelt, get paid and drive home.

If its a hack from craigslist cost to high work not upto parr... well known from Az forums then possible to cheap but done above perfect.

Have you played on the table to look for querks dead rubber loose rubber funny rolls in slate.... basic installers dont know how to repair correctly..

Sometimes you get more if wait for right tech go look at there work play on some of there tables.

Ask them questions its your money be a little picky.... cash is king and you want it to play great...

Not including the cost of the cloth you're paying for labor and ability.
If not using one of the top mechs that post here you won't know the level of ability until the table is setup.

I can't speak for all the mechs here but when I had my store I quoted table jobs based on an hourly rate since
most parts of the job can be broken down to "typical time required" for standard work (any special repairs needed
would be quoted separately).

In your case I would figure 10 hrs start to finish for this job.
1.5 hrs to disassemble and load the table for transport
4.0 hrs roundtrip travel time
4.0 hrs to setup the table with new cloth
0.5 hrs misc

FWIW I closed my store in 2002 and at the time was getting $65 hr for table jobs. Some may charge more or less and take
a little longer or get it done faster but IMO you're probably in the ballpark with the quote you received. What remains to be seen is how good a job they do. Hope this helps.

thanks

Thanks for the input. I'm actually pretty confident the mechanic will do a good job. I'll write a review/critique of the table and mechanic once everything is installed.
