Installing Rings

three options
I think some simple rings could be "cheated" onto a cue with a little care, making them in two pieces like a slip collar. However normally rings are one piece and have to be put on the cue when it is being built. To retrofit them means either turning down everything on the cue to where you want a ring and rebuilding from there or more commonly cutting the cue into two pieces wherever you want a ring. Do you really want the rings bad enough to do that to a Scruggs?

Put some pictures with a description of what you want to do,
more precisely to get a better a better idea of what you want to do.

Regarding Proficient, I had Scott refinish one of my Schragers and it came back perfect. He has another one right now!!

regarding ring installation
it depends on where you wanted them installed first off...
secondly, after installation the cue would obviously need refinishing... I offer these services with superb results....
either way it is indepth work and would require extraction of the buttsleeve and buttplate if you wanted ring below the wrap as well as joint collar removal for the forearm....
this process begins ar 100.00 and can go up to 250.00 depending on how elaborate you want to get, while still maintaining original concept and the cuemakers personality !!!

After reading the above posts it doesen't sould like it would be worth the effort to have rings installed. If the cue has to be cut apart I don't know if would have much interest in it after that.
