instroke question??

do instroke cases have plugs in the bottom for different length cues? i have a couple that for some reason hit the lid when latched and it is crooked. that is without joint protectors. with protectors , forget it. these are normal length cues. i never bought an instroke new and i have only used a couple for storage. i just took one the other day to the pool room and found this out. any input would be great, thanks.
 
I have seen people stick everything from marbles to coins and even wadded up paper in the tubes of cases. If you bought it used maybe this is it.

As far as I know Whitten is the only case that comes new with plugs designed to go into the tubes. I just sold the only instroke I had, but if I remember right I had no problem getting a 30" butt and shaft to fit without protectors.

Not sure if it makes a difference but Instroke is no longer made in Germany, they are made somewhere in asia now I think. I'm sure someone here knows the answer to your question.

forgot to mention i have another identical instroke and it is the same way.these are 58" cues also, nothing crazy.

Pre 1999 Instroke cases are shorter. They will acommodate up to 30" snugly without modification. Post 99 cases will accommodate up to 31.5" inches snugly.

The issue is with cues that have long joint pins and longer joint protectors. Sorry, I designed the first Instrokes around my Joss and Schon, with 5/16x14" joint pins. Took several years to get the commitee to agree that we needed to lengthen the cases to accomodate 29" butts with 2" joint pins.

The only thing you can do is to take the bottom off the cases and remove some of the padding inside the tubes. Reseal the bottom and you should be fine.
 
Oh, if you bought the cases used there is no telling what might be stuffed in the tubes. I once repaired one and pulled out cut up underwear out it.

I own one of the 3x5 Bufallo cases. I haven't has any issues with the lengths but I have had issues with the tubes causing small dents or crease in the shafts if I push the shafts in to seat them snuggly. Note: I don't believe I force the shaft into the case. The dents are located at the point where the shaft sticks out of the tube.
