Instruction

Had a great lesson today with a really nice fellow at Cue&Cushion Billiards in Overland, MO. In case some of you didn't know, I am now teaching the CTE/PRO 1 course that Stan teaches. Teaching pool is a pretty cool opportunity because of the fact that I am also going to school to become a teacher (early childhood education/special education).

Besides CTE/PRO 1, I can help out with stroke and over all fundamentals and break. The pool room that I do all my teaching is located only about 15 miles from downtown St. Louis. If anyone is near or relatively close by and would like some instruction, I'd love to have you! You can message me here or on Facebook for more specific details on the lessons, phone number, etc.

Whoever sees this, feel free to spread the word! Wishing everyone all the best.

Landon,

I posted a layout from one of your matches a little while ago (2012 Tunica). It was an interesting situation and many people responded with different answers as to how they would have shot the shot.

You have great form and fundamentals at the table and I'm sure you are a good teacher. Good luck. http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=377771

Good luck Landon. I've been to Stan's house for lessons about five years ago or so. Helped my game a lot for sure.

On another note, my best bud lives not just two blocks from the cue and cushion. Maybe we could work something out if and when I visit them one weekend.

A great young man, phenomenal player who has been taught by two of the best in the business. What an incredible blessing for St Louis area pool players.

Landon, if someone named Rhea shows up looking for a lesson, you may want to tell her you have a class to go to. :)

Or just play her a set for her shoes, so she can walk back home barefoot :)

Congratulations Landon on College, I wish you much success there. I have always been of the opinion that mothers and teachers are the number one and number two most important people in the world. Again, congratulations.

I plan on heading up north for instruction on CTE/PRO One in the spring. Everyone learns things differently but this system seem to mesh well with how I see things at the table. Nice to know that your are in the teaching loop on this as well and I hope that I get the opportunity to meet you.

One a different note, you have been on my top 5 favorite pool players in the world list every since I saw you play Earl at the Diamond 10 ball 10 Foot Challenge in Tunica. I have watched all of your material on the web and your form and patience at the table make pool look like high art. Only Feijen, Van Boening and Han Yu come close.

Thanks

I wish you luck , but do wish you would refer to Stan as your father than by his first name. Maybe I' m just getting crotchity.

And I would like to see him playing for the USA Mosconi Cup team.

@decent dennis

Some people may still be unsure of who my dad is or what his name is -- that is the only reason why I would refer to him as Stan.

@ps611846

Thank you! I really do hope to play one day! Perhaps once I graduate from college and begin my career. Believe it or not, I believe I'd have more time to train then because I certainly don't now. This is the busiest I have ever been.

You call your dad, Stan? lol

Good luck on your ventures in education. A friend of mine is on the same path and is enjoying it very much.

Having met Landon in Tunica.....and talking to him and his father, I can assure anyone that they're both golden. I was absolutely impressed and I don't say that too often.

I teased Stan that he must lock Landon in the basement with nothing but his cue and the table. He just smiled and laughed.

I must admit that Earl is my all-time favorite player, but I found myself solidly rooting for Landon. I feel like this was his "coming out party" to the pool world and he did not disappoint.

Even tho I was sure that it had been mentioned to him before, I implored Stan to keep Landon focused during his match with Earl, as we all know what could possibly happen.

To paraphrase, Stan replied, "Landon is very disciplined and will be fine. He can handle it."

I had no idea how disciplined he was. The young man was a stone-cold monster. He never swayed, fidgeted, or showed any emotion. Completely robotic. It was almost surreal to watch him dissect "The Pearl".

I wish Landon all the best in the world to a life outside of pool, but in the instance that he ever wants to come back to the table in a more permanent fashion.....no opponent will be able to ever take him lightly.

He's truly one of THE most disciplined players I've ever seen.

I have a lot of respect of pros who go for further education and tertiary. Even more respect for teaching profession, one of the most noble but underrated professions.
Well done :thumbup:
