Mike, watched your third instructional video. Thanks for making and sharing them, you know better than me it is never late to learn something new, and your videos always carry some brilliant advice.
IWhat I would like to see you doing, is explain - on every break shot - not only which english you apply, but WHY. Either it is cut angle which makes you choose this one particular shot, or part of the rack you are going to hit, or part of a given ball. Or the task of avoiding a scratch, etc.
I'm sure those thoughts come to you mind and you process that info, and all that is neded actually is you spelling your thoughts. It is not as easy to do as it might seem, it is thought as opposed to words, and we usually don't even realize what we are thinking about.
At 10:44 you end up in need to pocket your break ball (and you shoot a bank instead). Why not to play the 10 down the long rail first? Too steep angle to stay in the middle?
At 12:50 you forgot to explain the cb english (see above, I pay so much attention to that because that's the part I'm still lost when playing, I choose wrong english on way too many breaks, I suppose).
14:30 that's a mistake I make often enough, going into my break ball due to misjudge or poor positional shot.
I like your thorough explanation at 19:30, making the choice between stop and follow. 2 options is better than 1, hence your choice. Great remark showing proper approach. That's one of the gems I mentioned above about your commented videos.
That's it so far, thanks a lot for the videos once again and keep them coming! Narrating your way of thinking, sharing your perception about a given layout and managind the balls is always great to see. Thanks John Schmidt decided to do that, inspiring others to do the same. Rack'em!
