Instructional videos on banking, diamond table.

So the question is, will Diamond rails bank the same way on a different table?

That all depends on how the rails were built that the Diamond cushions are being installed on. Replacing the cushions is not a fix for rails that are built bad or wrong, or not even designed for the Diamond cushions in the first place.

They were replaced due to age, not that they were installed improperly in the first place. They seemed to bank long but that may also have been the new cloth.

I'm on a new diamond pro-am. Cant say I have gotten much table time yet due to work.

All I can is my banking sucks.

Wbat you need to understand is that the Superspeed and Artemis cushions are designed differently, therefore they're going to have a little different playing characteristics meaning they're not going to play exactly the same. The Artemis K55 cushions have a more rounded nose which means they're going to increase the friction contact of the balls, in such a way that the cue ball for example can spin off the cushions at a slightly greater angle than it does with the superspeed cushions. In the same respect, trying to shorten up a bank is going to have more effect on the artemis as well, yet transfer of spin to lengthen a bank will also provide better results on the artemis cushions too. But i feel that to truly understand the banking ability of any table, the player must first understand all the extenuating constance's that effect how a table banks. Loose rail bolts, thick or thin, or loose rail cloth, worn rail cloth, dirtly rail cloth, dead cushions, improperly installed cushions, cushions unglued. New bed cloth, worn bed cloth, type of cloth....the list goes on and on. What i see a lot of and hear a lot of, is players complaining about how a pool table don't bank according to the 3C banking diagrams! Well, i hate to be the one that gives out the bad news, but someone has to, most 3C tables don't bank according to the 3C banking diagrams drawn on a piece of paper either! Maybe in a perfect world, where the tables are kept in perfect condition at all times....MAYBE then they'll ALL play perfect, but down here on earth, you NEED to learn how to adjust you banks no matter what table you're playing on and stop fooling ones self into believing that you're a perfect bank pool player and when you miss a bank....its the tables fault!

Thanks for the info. Holding up a long rail bank with inside english seems much harder on my table than on superspeed rails. I'll check the rail bolts also. Table is in great shape in climate controlled room, It doesn't get much play and was covered by John about 1 1/2 years ago. Wear is about equal to 2 months in a pool room ( 1 that cleans there tables well...where ever THAT room is...lol )
