Instructor review

Randy G is 100% correct. So later when you realize this and you work on your stroke, you will lose control of the cue ball. You will start over doing position because you will still be hitting too hard or start overspinning the ball because of your stroke.

Easy to adjust, maybe less than 10 games.

Nope...Stroke comes before anything else if you want to achieve a high level of skill. If you disagree with that then you in the wrong place to get advice. If this is what your "instructor" told you, they are a poor instructor, not an "excellent" one. You don't know what you don't know.

Thanks. Hoping you'd give me a little bit more than to start from the beginning. Know you're just trying to help, but I'll stick to my untraditional path. Thanks for your time and see you at the tournaments!

I didn't say start over. You obviously have an inconsistent stroke, at best. Thinking that will change just because you play a lot is backwards. If you got some quality stroke instruction you would jump past where your skill is now (after 3 years of doing what you are doing), very quickly. If you got the right instructor, that could happen in as little as a month or two.

...not just my opinion.

Nathan...Yes, it is a better example. See my post in your thread on the main forum. Glad you recognize that SPF works!

Scott, Fran, here's an improvement. Using somewhat of an SPF with better timing. Pausing on the S really helps. Also stopped compromising my lower back and used more of a snooker stance bending at the waist. My speed is a B in this video.
