interesting break shot techniques

XTP does have an interesting break. Looks like she utilizes the "long lever" by being more upright and lengthening her arm, like a driver in golf instead of a short wedge. A lot more power is generated by standing more upright.

I guess she is locking in her target in the beginning by leaning down in the standard cue-on-the-chin shotting stance, then when she has the target, stands up and lets it rip. It's the jacking up of the cue butt that I think is especially interesting. I would probably spear the tip into the felt and rip a huge hole if I started doing that. :o

look at the best breakers in the world and they break similar to her, the difference is that they break on a more "fluid way". In her case since she is a small girl she is maximizing the energy transferred into the cue ball and rack by breaking down the break into different parts. Her timing is absolutely perfect. I love it.

Interesting. Very high cue speed for such a petite frame.

Well at least during one part of the break the cue was high. Not so sure on speed though.

Make her a foot taller and the break would look a lot smoother. The break stroke she uses is flawed in one way, but it's not the strokes fault. She rises up on her back heels rather than continuing to follow forward. Robbing herself of some key power. She literally pushes from her toes upward, rather than driving through from her heels.

I spent 30 min trying this technique today. Out of 20 tries, had 7 bad miscues, rest hit the rack but not accurately. I would concider 2 breaks where I controlled the cue ball, would be good breaks. My app said 21mph tops. I normally break at 18.5 mph.

Its a whole lot tougher then she makes it look....that's for sure!
