Internal Cue Extension?

i had one on my deroo, never used it, it was useless as most times i only needed an extra inch or so. it only extended fully out, which made my bridge length too long. i much prefer the screw in type.

Deroo also did a screw on extension as well.

I have a cue with this "internal" extension and to me, they aren't that great. They aren't long enough and sturdy enough (think of that small metal rod holding the cue weight).

I agree that best type is screw in type. I have a cue with Deroo's work where he made the screw same as j/b cue. So to use extension, all you do is unscrew the j/b cue and screw it into the butt. This way, you don't have to carry around the extension piece. Now if you have j/b with same screw in both joints then you can have 29 inch extension or choice of smaller or longer extension.

I'd be worried about firm hits. Are they pretty solid?

Some snooker cues have extensions with Uni-lock (or other quick release) screws. They can cover nearly any shot on the snooker table and are nearly as long as the traditional "long equipment."

I had one on a Josey sneaky pete. Found it very useful. Would definitely consider getting it again.

I also find that a 30" shaft makes a surprising difference. Obviously, it's only 1" longer than a typical 29" shaft but it really seemed to make a notable difference in the comfort level of reaching many shots.

Got my cue back from Jacoby. Seems to be everything I wanted with typical Brandon Jacoby workmanship. Going totry to add a couple of photos. Not sure how to but I'll try.

Was this installed on a cue or was the cue designed with the extender? If it was added to the cue may I ask how much you payed?

The cue is a nearly twenty year old Schon. Not sure of the exact model number. Added another photo of the entire cue. You should contact Brandon directly brandon@jacobycustomcues.com about the cost. Had other work done to the cue. If my memory is correct (Watchez doesn't think so :o), the extension was $175. Used it tonight as a break cue. Never had to use the extension but the weight was 15.9 oz. Same as when I gave the butt to him in Vegas this May.
