This is driving me nuts. Sometimes when I go to view a video or a picture on my iPhone there appears a little blue box with a question mark in it. It doesn't happen on here or utube, mostly on ustream. Is there some flash player I don't have or something? Please help and try to be very basic as I am a computer moron. Thx

Due to the infinite wisdom of Steve Jobs, the Iphone, Ipod Touch, and soon to be release Ipad do not support flash.

They don't support flash because then you could watch tv shows on hulu, which would negate the need to purchase anything on iTunes. Since iTunes is owned by apple, giving you better choices would have them losing money. Thanks.

I have an iPhone, and if they allowed it to do the things it was capable of, it would twice as good as it is. Oh well, maybe someone will develop something comparable.

Jailbreaking the iphone is pretty popular, or go with Google's Android OS for smartphone.
Jailbreaking allows you to get around many of the artificial restraints placed by AT&T and Apple, such as using it as a wifi station so your laptop and other devices can connect to the internet.

My ideal iphone app would be augmented reality for pool. Take a snapshot of the table, and the app would figure out where to start your run-out, or give you a safety shot.

I am basically waiting for Microsoft and a major phone building company to go tandom on a iPhone type of product that is in effect what PC is to a Mac. The same crap that Apple did to the iPhone, puposely restricting what its users can do with their product, is the same thing they did with their computer systems and it keeps me firmly in the PC camp. The technology exists to make the iPhone vastly better then it is, Apple purposely screwed over the consumer on the flash thing, the requirement of using itunes to move media onto your iPhone instead of letting it work like a extrernal hard drive like iRiver MP3 players have done, forever...

I cannot stand how much Apple controls and limits their products. They are lucky noone else in the phone market have really made an attack on that niche with an open ended powerful phone that in effect runs like a mini-PC.

Pooladdiction, download the ustream app and you won't have that problem. Streams great and it's a free app. The iPhone is the bomb, stick with it. No flash plugin, but it will happen eventually. It does everything else though.

Jailbreak your iPhone(or a computer buddy) and get iMobileCinema(flash plugin for iphone) then your iPhone is YOUR iPhone. Like above, get the Ustream app but, it only works on wifi. With IMC, you can get 85% of flash players like Google videos and such. Iphone rules  Ron

Go to Youtube and search it. imobilecinema

AT&T relaxed its bandwidth restrictions on Ustream, it will now stream over either 3G or wifi.

To be fair, Apple/AT&T isn't the only villain. For years Verizon purposedly disabled bluetooth on their phones, so you can buy the feature back. Its the entire US cellphone industry, and their practices.

Thank you all for your help! Yes, you are correct I should have listed this in the non pool related section. Sorry about that. I really wish they would have taken the restrictions off of this phone but from what you guys have said it sounds like it's not just limited to apple/AT&T. I had always been a pc guy but I gotta say this is the coolest cell phone I've ever used. The other day I'm with the wife at the doctors office and she asks me if I would mind staying in the waiting room. "not at all" I said as I watched bustey vs. Reyes on my phone. How strong is that!!!
