Ipod While Playing ?

I listen to my iPod almost whenever I'm playing. If I'm playing 9-ball or 10-ball I like more upbeat music. If 8-ball or one-pocket I prefer a little slower paced music.

I am with the people that say only for practice. I am just young and kind of new to the pool scene but one of the first things I was taught was etiquette. Not to mention I find it disrespectful to be ignoring someone like that. Than again I find it disrespectful to talk while someone is shooting or when you are playing someone. I listen to upbeat music to help get me in to a groove.

IPOD - What I think as the opponent

No, I don't wear an IPOD and have no objection to my opponent wearing one. In fact, when I am playing someone with an IPOD I say to myself this guy isn't head strong he can't think of the task at hand without being distracted. I feel like I have a mentally edge over my opponent. I see them using an IPOD as mental weakness. Now I might be totally wrong but that's how I approach anyone wearing an IPOD. I actually think it gives me an edge.

I think of it this way, every match I buy from TAR or Accu Stats the players are IPOD free. If the top players can do it with all the distraction around them, then I must learn to do it. Do I get distracted or sharked absolutely I do, but I get better at handling it everyday. Hopefully, one day soon my focus on my best day will become my focus everyday. I see an IPOD as a crutch. I believe the answer is to improve our mental game, focus and determination to win. JMO.

P.S. I love to listen to my IPOD and will when I am practicing sometimes.

...If you had a deaf handicap person playing would they be told they could not participate because they can't hear the noise around them. ...
That is absurd. Accommodation is available for those who have a need for it. But not in the PGA.
